Secretary-General António Guterres has announced the creation of an advisory body of 39 members to address issues around the international governance of AI.
The new body’s mandate is to support the international community’s efforts to address the risks, opportunities, and international governance of the technology.
Members include tech company executives, government officials from Spain to Saudi Arabia, and academics from countries such as the U.S., Russia and Japan.
The body’s work is expected to start in November 2023, with a final report expected in mid-2024.
