X’s France offices raided by Paris prosecutor’s cybercrime unit

Paris prosecutor’s cybercrime unit have raided X’s France offices as part of an investigation into suspected offences including unlawful data extraction and complicity in the possession of child sexual abuse material.

According to reports, X’s owner Elon Musk and former chief executive officer Linda Yaccarino are summoned to appear at hearings in April.

The French investigation into content recommended by X’s algorithm began in January 2025, before extending in July that year to include the controversial AI chatbot, Grok.
