National cybersecurity agencies of 18 countries have adopted a set of ‘secure by default’ guidelines for the safe design, development, deployment and operation of machine learning systems.

The non-binding agreement prioritises:

• taking ownership of security outcomes for customers
• embracing radical transparency and accountability
• building organisational structure and leadership so secure by design is a top business priority

There’s currently no internationally binding agreement on securing AI systems.
